Uplift the Trees is a revolutionary-style poster centered on a monumental tree whose roots merge with gears, circuitry, and industrial machinery. A small human figure raises an arm beneath the canopy while red and gold rays spread behind it. The visual language belongs to political mobilization, yet the proposed constituency is non-human and rooted in place. The standalone artwork responds to a report in the June 25, 2026 dispatch that Terrasse-Vaudreuil in Quebec had recognized trees as living beings with rights to life, natural growth, integrity, and regeneration. The poster transforms that municipal decision into a broad ecological campaign. Its slogan, Uplift the Trees, borrows the vocabulary of technological enhancement while refusing the assumption that uplift belongs only to people or machines. The mechanical roots do not necessarily replace nature. They make visible the infrastructure through which legal recognition, monitoring, urban planning, and care might support a living system. The tiny human figure establishes a useful reversal of scale: civilization appears as one participant beneath an older, larger organism. By adopting propaganda aesthetics, the work treats rights for trees not as a decorative environmental sentiment but as a political proposition capable of reorganizing priorities. It belongs in the Singularity archive because expanding technological power repeatedly forces a reconsideration of which forms of life count as subjects rather than resources. The tableau condenses that question into an emblem where ecology, law, and machinery share the same root system.
