Welcome to February 8, 2026, shows a luminous mechanical lobster swimming or flying through a translucent vortex. Blue, violet, and gold currents wrap around its armored body as its claws open toward the viewer. The image combines marine movement, wormhole fantasy, and the polished drama of a product reveal. Dr. Alex Wissner-Gross’s dispatch declared that the bootstrap phase was complete. Nearly all of Anthropic’s product code was being written by Claude, model-release cycles had accelerated, and agent ecosystems were operating continuously. The lobster functions as the recurring emblem of those ecosystems, but the vortex supplies the thesis. It is both the current carrying the agent forward and a structure the agent appears to generate through its own motion. That visual feedback corresponds to software writing the products, tools, and environments that support further software development. Continuous agent operation removes the pause imposed by a human workday, while faster releases tighten the cycle again. The tableau does not claim that the recursive process has reached an endpoint. It records the moment a major share of production could be described as internally generated. Dated February 8, the work marks the Singularity transition as a change from assisted development to bootstrap development. The agent is no longer merely traveling through infrastructure built for it; its activity helps create the current that accelerates the next version, the next product, and the next round of agency.
