A floating brain hangs between two banks of monumental server towers. Copper-orange currents sweep through sky and ground, joining the data centers to orbiting spheres, industrial structures, and a luminous Moon. These painterly circuits resemble a nervous system and a weather pattern at once. Intelligence is not confined to a machine in the scene; it moves between machines, research, infrastructure, and space like a planetary climate. Dr. Alex Wissner-Gross's December 19 dispatch centered on the possibility that the next major AI advance might come from AI itself. Noam Shazeer assigned even odds to the next breakthrough being generated by Gemini. DeepMind, meanwhile, was planning a converged proto-AGI. The brain suspended between server banks makes that convergence visible, while the currents imply a recursive loop in which models participate in producing the advances that create more capable models. The other elements establish the scale required for that loop. Enormous scientific datasets supply material for discovery; gigawatt infrastructure supplies the physical power and compute; industry turns research into buildable systems; and the Moon and orbital forms place the feedback cycle beyond a purely terrestrial frame. The central idea is therefore recursive self-improvement acquiring a body. It is made of servers, energy, data, institutional plans, and the circulation among them. The image fixes December 19, 2025 at a particularly legible threshold in the transition toward the Singularity: the expected source of a breakthrough was beginning to shift from human researchers using models to models helping generate the next breakthrough themselves. The nervous weather records that change without pretending the outcome was already settled.
